Log in to view your list of favourite games. Great Magic Shield is a Sorcery in Dark Souls 3. Considering the crest shield is just up the hill ahead, there isn't much reason to skimp on those 4 strength levels as a normal character. Some other options are Heater Shield (quicker parry recovery), Target Shield (+33% parry window but low stability/defense), Grass Crest Shield (passive stamina regen), Silver Knight Shield (high stability and high fire/lightning resist, high weight).
If you like to parry, then the Balder shield upgrades well.
